How we verify
A listing goes live only once the checks are done.
The blue check isn’t something a practitioner can buy. It means we’ve checked their professional registration and verified the documents they’ve provided, so you can search with greater confidence.
What we check
Verified listing
Professional registration
The practitioner provides details of their professional body and registration number. We check these against the relevant professional register and confirm that their registration is current.
Required
DBS certificate
Required from anyone working with children or vulnerable adults. For home care and similar categories, these checks are completed before payment is taken.
Where it applies
Signed declaration
The practitioner types their full name to confirm that everything they have given us is accurate and that they will tell us if it changes.
Required
Quarterly re-check
We hold every expiry date and chase registration and insurance as they come up for renewal. Verification is a standing commitment, not a one-off.
Ongoing
If we cannot verify a practitioner, we cancel the listing and refund the membership in full. Nobody pays to stay unpublished.
What we stand for
Trust is a set of decisions, not a promise.
Each of these shapes how the directory is built and how it makes money.
We check before we publish
No listing appears while its documents are outstanding. A profile in the queue is a profile nobody can find.
Paid placement is labelled
Practitioners can pay to be highlighted or ranked higher in their category, and where they do, it is marked as a Partner listing. Results are never quietly reordered.
We take no share of anyone's fees
Practitioners pay a flat membership. What they charge a client is between them and that client, and we take nothing from it.
Faith-sensitivity is described, not assumed
Practitioners write in their own words how faith informs their practice, alongside the languages they work in. We never infer it from a name.
The same checks apply to everyone
Every plan carries the same verification. A higher tier buys visibility and features — it does not buy the blue check.
And what we won't do
Sell leads, or promise practitioners a number of enquiries we have no evidence for.
Publish a statistic or a testimonial we have not verified and been given permission to use.
Present ourselves as a substitute for urgent or emergency medical care.

How does Ummah Care protect my privacy?
We only collect and use personal information as explained in our Privacy Policy and take
appropriate measures to keep it secure.
Do you share my personal information?
We do not sell personal information. Information is only shared where necessary to operate our
services, meet legal obligations or as otherwise explained in our Privacy Policy.
Are verification documents made public?
No. Documents submitted for verification are not displayed publicly on practitioner profiles.
Does Ummah Care see what I discuss with a practitioner?
No. Ummah Care is a directory and is not involved in private sessions or conversations between
you and a practitioner.
How can I report a concern?
You can contact Ummah Care if you have a safeguarding concern, complaint or concern about
a listing. We will review it in line with our relevant policies.
